Freezing downhill action with the Octamini 50
The main challenge of this shooting was freezing the action of a downhill bike at high speed while still preserving the natural atmosphere of the forest. We wanted to create true action shots while maintaining depth and presence in the environment.

Floating in the mist
This was one of those projects where everything comes together - the idea, the person, and the moment. I worked with Rokas Magic (Rokas Bernatonis), a Lithuanian magician known both locally and internationally, with several Guinness World Records. He creates magic through his performances, and my goal was to translate that into a visual image.

How to: Precision in black
Precision in Black is about transforming a technical object into a sculptural presence that appears to float within darkness. In this approach, black is not treated as empty space but as an active visual field in which light becomes a structural element.

How to: E-commerce “white on white”
Poor image quality in e-commerce photography is often excused by time pressure: many products, little time. As a result, images are simply “brightened” – but rarely with any deliberate or controlled lighting. Yet it takes neither a large amount of additional equipment nor significantly more time to noticeably improve image quality. This example demonstrates how a clean, controlled, and high-quality result can be achieved with only minimal extra effort.

The protagonists of Gelders
A while ago, I was commissioned to shoot several campaign images showing the protagonists of the Gelders brand. The agency wanted a less polished and commercial look, so we ensured the lighting complemented this request. Harsh shadows and dramatic lighting made for a compelling visual.

How to: Capturing zero-gravity spirits
Whisky photography usually leans toward dark, moody libraries and leather chairs. For this project, however, we wanted to break away from tradition and create a high-energy, “exploding” composition.

Shaping emotion with light
In music-driven visual storytelling, light is more than illumination – it shapes emotion, atmosphere, and narrative depth. This philosophy came to life in Swargaloka, a studio-based music clip and photo production created in collaboration with one of Indonesia’s most renowned musicians, and visually directed by Martha Suherman.

How to: Sculpting the dark
When I photograph dark, highly detailed objects, I don’t think in terms of adding light – I think in terms of shaping it. With a technical camera, every surface matters: the bellows, the metal edges, the glass. My goal is to control exactly what becomes visible and what stays in shadow.

The beginning of light
The photoshoot took place in an open outdoor area in Bogor, Indonesia, using large trees as a visual representation of the forest. Working in an open environment meant embracing natural unpredictability shifting daylight, humidity, and changing weather conditions – while still maintaining visual consistency throughout the shoot.

Time in motion: Capturing elegance with Stelos
I recently had the chance to test the new Stelos monolight during a product shoot featuring a luxury watch, and I came away genuinely impressed. Stelos is lightweight yet incredibly reliable, fitting effortlessly into my studio setup. The batteries lasted the entire session, which gives me full confidence they’ll perform just as well on location with clients.

Overpowering the sun: Creating with dancers and light
For this shoot with professional dancers, we chose an unused industrial loading site. The raw concrete walls, empty loading bays, and wide open asphalt provided both a striking backdrop and the freedom to move dynamically with the performers. Shooting in this type of environment is always exciting, because it combines the unpredictability of an improvised performance with the challenge of shaping light in an unforgiving outdoor space.

How to: Unconventional portrait with an unorthodox light shaper
We had Suzy in our studio. At first, we realized so-called pay-shots, but afterward we wanted to experiment with unconventional styles, light directions, and shapers. Our choice was the Litepipe P, mounted on the Stelos compact unit.
